Chipper WOD Endurance Base

Today’s WOD is a multiple movement MetCon for 1 Round (A chipper wod). These are usually longer in duration and I like to program these sparingly as these styles of WODs will add a lot of volume to your training week. While these are challenging and dare I say fun, you must be careful with chasing the “fatigue dragon.”

Sometimes we CrossFitters can get stuck in the mindset that if we are still standing we didn’t get a training effect. Well, that is not the case. We do need to push ourselves but we must always look for the “effective minimum dose.”

Every time you train you should be shooting for a goal aside from “getting really tired and sore.”

It might be;

“move as much weight on the deadlift as possible”

“get my heart rate to 90% maximum heart rate and hold it for X minutes” etc.

Think of it this way. Water boils at a certain temperature. You can’t extra boil water. Make sure you don’t always boil yourself until you are nothing but steam (also make sure you get your water to boiling temperature too).
