After already being a Personal Trainer for 8 yrs I began my CrossFit journey in 2006, following a conversation and a workout with a friend who had been training with the Navy SEALs. This was my first exposure to CrossFit, and looking back now, I had no idea how this conversation would positively impact my life and the lives of many people around me. After getting CrossFit Level 1 Certified and trying the workouts, I was hooked. So much so that I knew I wanted to help work at a CrossFit affiliate and share my knowledge and experience. Now my passion in life is to share my enthusiasm for a healthy and fulfilling life with as many people as possible!
After teaching CrossFit full time for almost 10 yrs now I can say it has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding endeavors I have ever taken on.
After taking an interest in Olympic Weightlifting in 2009 and self-coaching for about a year I stumbled upon CrossFit when looking at fitness programs that incorporated Olympic lifts. In 2010 I stepped into a CrossFit box for the first time and I fell in love instantly. After driving nearly 45 minutes to the nearest CrossFit box for a couple years, I partnered with Shaun to finally bring CrossFit to Galveston. We’ve now brought another first to Galveston, the first official USA Weightlifting club, Galveston Weightlifting!
Even though we’re a relatively new weightlifting club I’ve enjoyed some great success as head coach of Galveston Weightlifting.
